The Human Potential Running Series (HPRS) Leadership Program was designed to help members of the trail and ultra running community to become more involved in their sport by ‘leading from behind’. Our program is designed to provide hands on experience to individuals who are interested in; event management, understanding the behind the scenes of trail and ultra, becoming race directors, giving back to the sports community by obtaining the experience necessary to provide volunteer support in an expert manner.

What is ‘Leading From Behind’? It’s the idea that leaders don’t guide a group of people, a team, a company, etc. … Instead, they lead from the rear, like a shepherd tending to a flock.

It is our every intention with the HPRS Leadership Program to cultivate leadership amongst those who participate in, and volunteer at, trail and ultra running events. It is our hope that by providing this education and experience, more individuals will have a first hand idea related to what goes on behind the scenes to make events like ours happen, and the ever important need for more of us to GIVE BACK.
