From HPRS RD John Lacroix
The next event on our schedule is the Endure 12 and 24-Hour Endurance Runs set for May 15th in Divide, CO, where we’ll be at Mueller State Park for the newest edition of letting little balls decide your fate. I’ve made some changes to the event that I hope will continue to encourage more of you to register, and I’d like to detail those to you now.
SPACE
1.) The event is capped at 200 runners. Originally I had split the field with 100 spots for the 12-Hour and 100 Spots for the 24-Hour. I have lifted this split of the field. We have 200-spots for both distances combined. First come, first served, until they’re gone.
2.) We have room to park just 60 vehicles within the state park, in a spot just 1-mile away from the race site. These sites will be reserved for 24-Hour runners first, then we’ll file 12-hour runners in as space allows. I have secured another location for off-site parking just 3 miles from the Start/Finish line. We need volunteers to help us with a shuttling operation. Those who volunteer as shuttle drivers will use their personal vehicles to transport runners to and from the parking lots and the race site. For your help, you’ll receive a comp race entry to a future HPRS event of your choice and preference to be able to park AT the start/finish line. Parking at the start/finish will be reserved for HPRS Staff, Volunteers, and shuttle drivers ONLY. You can register as a shuttle driver by CLICKING HERE.
12-HOUR CHANGES
1.) In a video I made a few weeks ago, I stated that we would have a maximum cap of 125 runners for the 12-Hour. As mentioned in the change above, this cap has been lifted. We have room for 200 total runners across both distances.
24-HOUR CHANGES
1.) Originally we mandated that those in the 24-hour would need to remain on site should they drop from the event prior to the end of 24-Hours. I have decided to lift this condition. If you do not Endure the 24-hour event, you will be shuttled back to your vehicle in a timely fashion as volunteers allow.
2.) I have lowered the price of the 24-Hour from $210 back down to $200. This will remain the price of entry through race day. The 12-hour fees remain the same.
CAMPING
We have reserved the entire Pisgah Group Camping site within the state park. Once we provide space for HPRS Staff and Volunteers, we have room for 58 campers. 24-Hour runners will be provided priority of these spaces. We will then open space for 12-Hour runners as is available. Any runner is welcome to rent one of the many campsites or cabins in the State Park on their own accord and at their own expense. Doing so would guarantee yourselves on site lodging and parking that aligns with park regulations. We will have more information about our group camping in the coming weeks. You WOULD be sharing tents with others if camping with us. No campers, trailers, vans, or roof top tents. Tent camping ONLY.
We hope this changes will assist many of you with the decision to join us or not. As covid-restrictions continue to ease, we look forward to welcoming many of you back to running with HPRS, and welcoming many newcomers along the way. We know one direction… FORWARD.
