“Humble is the man who excepts that life is full of ups and downs”

The Indian Creek Fifties takes advantage of the challenging and little used terrain just southwest of the Denver Metro area. Loop 1 climbs to 8000′, and quickly flows down into the Grand Valley for a few gorgeous pink sunrise soaked miles. This loop almost seems friendly, until you’re given a few sharp stabs in the back. Loop 2 will head out onto wonderfully runnable trails, only to be stopped dead looking up at the lovely flowy hill you forgot about running down in loop 1. Embrace the suck, and enjoy those false summits! Loop 3 is a wonder to behold. You saw it on loop 2, now you get to experience it. Dread and panic may flood your mind on the way down, while calm and perseverance will encompass your hike back up. Roxborough State Park will quickly give you something more than the scenery to marvel at, yourself. Through aspen groves, pine stands, and montane grasses this race will challenge you to the core. A race to celebrate all that you are, and all the potential you hold.

COURSE DETAILS
UTMB/ITRA: The 50-Mile race has been evaluated and certified by the International TrailRunning Association. It is a UTMB Qualifier worth 3 Points. The 55k has also been evaluated and certified by the ITRA. It is a UTMB Qualifier worth 2 Points.
Aid Station: There will be 3 aid stations on the course totaling 1 aid stop for the 15 Mile, 4 aid stops for the 55K, and 7 aid stops for the 50 Mile. Each aid station will be fully stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, and assorted “ultra” snacks. The main aid station will have drop bag access, which you will be able to access a total of 1 time in the 55K and 2 times for the 50 Mile.
Crews/Spectators: Due to access difficulty in the area, there will be crew access ONLY at the start/finish area and it is discouraged. Crews can attend to their runners once for the 55K and twice for the 50 Mile at THIS STATION ONLY. We ask that you please only use a crew if absolutely necessary, there is very limited parking at the start/finish area. Crews will need to pay the $10 day use parking fee unless there is 2 registered runners within their vehicle.

The Start/Finish area (Reservation Aid Station) is located at the Indian Creek Campground on CO HWY 67. (Miles: 15, 33.88)

Pacers: 50 Mile runners may pick up a pacer at mile 32.82 ONLY, this will be at the start/finish area at Indian Creek.

This gives 50-Mile runners 4 Hours and 45 Minutes to complete their final 17 Mile loop. The Waterton Canyon Aid Station will close at 6:45p regardless of if everyone has passed through per permit restrictions. Any 50-Mile Runner who chooses not to continue at 50K, or who does not make the 3:15pm cutoff, will receive a finishers award and a 50K Finish Time. This cutoff is based on historical times of those who have left the reservation for their final loop and finished under the 14-hour cutoff. It is non-negotiable.
