Silverheels/Last Call Finish Celebration Set

The finish line at the Silverheels 100-Mile Endurance Run will feel a little different this year, and for a few good reasons. First, Human Potential added a 50-Mile option to the event known as the Last Call 50-Mile Endurance Run as a way to bolster attendance and offer late race 100-milers some needed company on the trails. Second, 2-Mile High Inc has come together with Human Potential to create an amazing finish line celebration.

Human Potential has been working to support 2-Mile High Inc., a Fairplay based 501(c)3 organization dedicated to bettering recreational opportunities within the Fairplay community. The Silverheels 100 has a volunteer requirement that runners can “buy-out” of by providing a $100 donation to 2-Mile High Inc. and subsequently supporting recreational opportunities within the town. In return for the support offered by Human Potential, 2-Mile High and the South Park Recreation center is supporting Human Potential by not only hosting the events start and finish line, but by hosting one heck of a finish line celebration. Here are the details..

FOOD TRUCKS

KAM Pizza (Kickin’ Ass Mountain Pizza) of Fairplay and Lomito Gourmet, a Peruvian Cuisine food truck out of Denver, are the two food truck vendors who have agreed to serve their delicious offerings at the post race celebration. Every registered runner will receive a post race meal compliments from one of these outstanding vendors. Pacers, crews, and spectators will be able to purchase food on their own accord.

BEER GARDEN

A liquor license has been secured so that everyone can enjoy wine and beer at the finish line celebration as well. Human Potential and 2-Mile High is still looking for a beer sponsor willing to help stock the garden. One anonymous donor has already pledged a few cases of beer.

A portion of the proceeds from food and liquor sales will directly benefit 2-Mile High Inc and their mission.

LIVE MUSIC

The Sweet Alma Soul Sisters will be performing LIVE in the afternoon right up to the awards ceremony at 4:30pm. This amazing group offers alternative pop rock music with soul. This group has an amazing sound and is sure to soothe the tired soul after a hard day in the mountains. For those with the energy, we’re sure they’ll be reason to dance.

All are welcome to join in the festivities on July 8th. The events are being held at the South Park Recreation Center at 1190 Bullet Road in Fairplay, CO

The Silverheels 100-Mile Endurance Run is in it’s 4th year and is being held on July 7-8. The Last Call 50-Mile Endurance Run starts at Midnight on July 8th. Both events pay homage to the legendary tale of lady Silver Heels, and Bill Buck’s Dance Hall. Online registration for both events is open through June 30th, race day registrations will also be accepted.
